Which dental insurance do you accept?
Kingston Smiles NY works with most PPO dental plans, and with two plans many Kingston families have through work.
CSEA dental benefits
For CSEA members with dental through the CSEA Employee Benefit Fund. Plans differ by bargaining unit, so we check yours first.
Kingston Trust Fund
For Kingston Teachers’ Federation members, whose dental benefits are administered by Sele-Dent.
Other PPO dental plans
Most PPO plans can be used at Kingston Smiles NY. Call with your plan details and the team will check before you book.
How we check your benefits
- Tell us your plan. Mention your insurance when you request an appointment.
- We check your coverage. The team confirms your eligibility and what your plan pays for.
- You get a written estimate. Before treatment starts, you see what insurance is expected to pay and what’s left for you.
- We file the claim. The paperwork and any pre-authorization go to your plan for you.
An estimate isn’t a guarantee: your plan makes the final decision on what it pays.
Ways to pay for what insurance doesn’t cover
The same options work if you don’t have dental insurance at all.
Card, HSA or FSA
Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express. You can also pay with a Health Savings Account or Flexible Spending Account card, which uses money set aside before tax.
CareCredit
A health care credit card you apply for online. Approved patients can spread larger treatment costs over monthly payments, under the terms CareCredit offers you.
Cherry
A payment plan you apply for in a few minutes. If approved, you choose how to split the cost into monthly payments, under the terms Cherry offers you.

Costs before treatment
You always get the cost in writing, including your insurance share and your own, before any treatment starts.
Care based on need
Dr. Ibrahim Sayeed recommends treatment because your teeth need it, not because a benefit is available. Having coverage for something doesn’t mean you need it.

Can I pay with my HSA or FSA card?
Yes, for most dental treatment. We take HSA and FSA cards. Read what an HSA covers at the dentist.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes, through CareCredit and Cherry. Both let approved patients spread the cost of treatment over monthly payments.
How many cleanings does insurance cover each year?
Most dental plans cover two checkups and cleanings a year, often in full. Your plan’s rules decide the exact number.
What is a dental deductible?
The amount you pay yourself each year before your plan starts paying. Many plans don’t apply it to checkups and cleanings.
I don’t have dental insurance. Can I still come in?
Yes. You’ll get the cost in writing before treatment, and you can pay by card, HSA, FSA, CareCredit or Cherry. You can request an appointment online.
