What a smile makeover can include
Your plan uses only the treatments you need. Most combine two or three.
- Teeth whitening to lighten your natural teeth
- Dental bonding for small chips and gaps
- Porcelain veneers to change shape and color
- Crowns for worn, broken or heavily filled teeth
- Implants or bridges for missing teeth

How a smile makeover is planned
- Consultation. You explain what you would like to change, and Dr. Sayeed examines your teeth, gums and bite.
- Records. Photos, X-rays and a scan show where things stand, so the plan is based on your teeth as they are now.
- Your written plan. The treatments, their order, the number of visits and the costs, with options where there are some.
- Health first. Any cavities, gum problems or failing fillings are treated before cosmetic work.
- Cosmetic phases. Usually whitening first, then bonding, veneers or crowns matched to the new shade.
How long does a smile makeover take?
From a few weeks for whitening and bonding to several months when implants are involved. You can spread phases out to suit your budget.
A smile makeover, or a single treatment?
A single treatment
- One thing to change, such as a chip or stains
- Often done in one or two visits
- Lower cost
A smile makeover
- Several things to change at once
- Treatments planned to match each other
- Done in phases over weeks or months
Common combinations are whitening with bonding for stains and a chip, whitening with veneers on the front teeth, or a crown or implant at the back with whitening for the rest of the smile.
Who is a good candidate?
Adults and older teens with healthy gums, or gums that can be treated first, who want to change more than one thing about their smile. You don’t need perfect teeth to start, and it’s common to begin after years of hiding your smile in photos.
If your teeth are very crowded or your bite is off, straightening may need to come first. Read about crooked teeth in adults, or see all our cosmetic dentistry options.
How much does a smile makeover cost?
It depends entirely on which treatments your plan includes. You get a written plan with the cost of each phase before you decide.
- Insurance: cosmetic steps usually aren’t covered, but crowns, implants or fillings in your plan may be partly covered. We check your benefits.
- Spreading the cost: CareCredit and Cherry let you pay for cosmetic treatment over time.
- In phases: spreading treatment over time spreads the cost too.
Smile makeover questions
Patients come to us from Kingston, Hurley, Rosendale, Rhinecliff, Saugerties, Woodstock and across Ulster County.
Is a smile makeover worth it?
For many people, yes: it fixes several things together so the results match. Dr. Sayeed also tells you when a single, simpler treatment would be enough.
How are the shape and shade chosen?
Dr. Sayeed talks you through the options and what’s realistic for your teeth, and you agree the shade and shape before treatment starts.
Can a smile makeover replace missing teeth?
Yes. Dental implants, bridges or dentures can be part of the plan, timed with the cosmetic steps.
Do I have to do everything at once?
No. Most plans are done in phases, and you can pause between them.
